ges season 3

Gathering of Tweakers (GoT) is proud to finally announce the return of the Gathering of Tweakers Endurance Series (GES)!

As before, GES Season 3 continues as the official support series of our big brother: the NEO Endurance Series (NES). However, this season we have chosen to depart slightly from copying the NES schedule. We will be running different tracks in the first two events, but continue following NES in the remainder of the season.

Schedule

Season 3 consists of 5 GES events, plus an additional 6th bonus event only available to the top 3 teams in each class.

Event 1: 4 Hours of Road America (October 15th, 2016)
Event 2: 3 Hours of Imola (November 12th, 2016)
Event 3: 4 Hours of Motegi (Night) (December 10th, 2016)
Event 4: 3 Hours of Nurburgring (January 14th, 2017)
Event 5: 4 Hours of Spa (February 18th, 2017)

The top 3 teams in each class after the 5 GES events will be invited to participate in the NES final event: the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
Event 6: 24 Hours of Le Mans (NES) (March 25-26th, 2017)

Cars and classes

The cars and classes remain similar to Season 3 with one notable exception: the BMW Z4 GT3 will be replaced by the Mercedes AMG GT3. We feel the interclass interaction was already good last season, but the Mercedes should balance slightly better with the Corvette DP due to its poorer brakes.

Proto: Corvette Daytona Prototype
GT3: Mercedes AMG GT3
GTC: Ruf C-spec

Regulations and registration

The regulations and registration procedure will be largely similar to Season 2. Some changes and improvements are in progress and will be announced once the full regulations are finished.

Most notably, we will be introducing a better incident review and penalty handling system. The main goal is to be more consistent in penalties by following a predefined set of rules (while still allowing freedom for interpretation when necessary).

The registration will still involve a registration fee, which we expect to be the same as last season ($32 per team). The registration procedure will be improved and slightly more flexible for the teams.
