Sebring 185 | April 27th, 2014 | S1 2014

General information
The Gathering of Tweakers Sebring 185 event once again builds on our previous Team Challenge races. This season, the Chevrolet Corvette C6RRuf Rt12 R Track and Ruf Rt12 R C-spec cars will fight to the finish for 185 miles of Sebring International during the night (50 laps). And once again we compete in teams: every driver is part of a three man TEAM, and each team must consist of one Chevrolet Corvette C6R, one Ruf Track and one Ruf C-spec car.

The three cars will be in their own class and will also be gridded by class, but the only thing that matters at the end is your total team score: the sum of the points of all three teammates. There is no individual winner, only the team with the most amount of total points wins!

Broadcast
The race will be broadcasted by Global Sim Racing Channel (GRSC)!

Team racing
The Team Racing aspect is unique to our Team Challenge events. Every driver is part of a three-man team, consisting of exactly one Chevrolet, one Ruf Track and one Ruf C-spec car. Points are awarded to each driver separately based on their class finishing positions. Penalty points are subtracted when a driver has too much incidents in the race (see below). The final team score is simply the sum of each driver’s points after subtracting penalties. The overall winner of the race is therefore meaningless, only the final position of your team is what counts!

Team mates
You can choose your own team mate if you wish. If you do not have a team mate you can just sign up on your own, and you will be grouped with other drivers semi-randomly by us (we will try to balance the teams a little bit in this case). If you create a team make sure that the drivers you add to your team agree with that decision, do not add drivers to your team without their knowledge!

In case too many people sign up with the same car we will not be able to make the teams. Therefore, your car choice (in case you sign up on your own) will only be a primary car choice, and you may be assigned the other car when the teams are made so that we can make the teams. First come, first serve will apply in this case.

Points
Points are awarded for class finishing positions of each driver separately. Final team position is decided by the sum of points of all three drivers, after subtracting possible penalties. In case of a draw between teams, the team with the least amount of combined incidents wins. If there is still a draw in that case, the fastest laptime will decide the winner.

Points awarded simply start at 30 points for the class winner, and decrease by 1 point for every lower position: 30, 29, 28, 27, …
In addition to that we subtract penalty points for incidents:
< 6x: No penalty
6-10x: -2 points
11-15x: -4 points
16-20x: -8 points
21-25x: -14 points
> 25x: -20 points

During the race a live team timing will be available, but will not take into account the incident penalties! These will be subtracted after the race and before price giving at the GSRC teamspeak server at the end of the broadcast.

Live marshals
Nick Thissen en Joep Willemsen will be live marshals during the whole race. The will penalize drivers who do not behave according the ‘First Official Sporting Code Version 2014.02.21.01’ during the race. They can give stop&go or stop&hold penalties to drivers.
In the unlikely event that the track gets blocked the marshals can throw in a safety car.

Restrictions
Unfortunately, we feel mandated to impose a small minimum license restriction before you are eligible to race.
Minimum road license: C class
Minimum road iRating: 1500

Gathering of Tweakers community members who do not meet these restrictions may be allowed to race at the discretion of the organization.

Liveries
In the broadcast and night it is difficult to distinguish the different Ruf cars. Therefore a special Ruf decal layer is available and will be applied by GSRC. If you want to fine tune your own livery to this decal set we provide both below. Please do not change the decal set.
We will prepare a zipfile with the decals for all driver in case you want to use the decals while driving too.

Attention: Please unload any car_decal_#####.tga you uploaded yourself to Trading Paints! This prevents the Sebring 185 decal set to be overwritten at the broadcast.

Podium after the Chequered Flag
Nick and Joep will calculate the final scoring (with incident penalty points) as fast as possible after the race and provide the results to GSRC. Just before price giving at the broadcast channel GSRC will show the final results. The winning team is invited to join the GSRC teamspeak server for a short interview. Details on how to join their server will be in the PM with the password of the race.
