The Gathering of Tweakers (GoT) members have been organizing races and tournaments for over a year now. Previously these races were open to Benelux members only, but we want to expand for next season and give more people access to our races.
Our races and tournaments are all about having fun with other sim racers, respecting each other and sharing knowledge about the cars and tracks driven. During the practice sessions we always share setups and discuss ways to make them better.
The tournament will be held with a variety of cars and tracks. We will use a wide selection of content and come up with some combinations that are not very common but a lot of fun. At the same time we will try to limit the amount of non-standard content (for example by running tracks multiple times but on completely different configs) so that as many people as possible can join without having to buy a lot of content. Furthermore there will be 4 drop weeks so you can be competitive without having to attend every single race. We don’t even mind if you just participate for a few races for fun, because the tournament is more about fun than it is about winning (although once the green flag flies we can be pretty competitive ).
The tournament is organized from a central website:

The website will show a list of upcoming races and their details and a list of registered drivers. If you want to participate in a race, please register for an account on the website and sign up for the races you want to attend. Signing up is mandatory as we will send the session password only to registered drivers.
There will be a overall standings shown on the tournament site. The following points can be score during a race:

To acquire points the driver needs to complete 90% of the race distance.
During races you can score up to 3 bonus points by:
– One point extra for pole position.
– One point extra for fastest lap during race. (Only for Road races)
– One point extra for having run the most leading laps. (Only for Oval races)
– Three points extra for drivers with 0 inc.
– Two points extra for drivers with 1 inc.
– One point extra for drivers with 2 incs.
Race sessions will be held every Tuesday at 18:00 GMT. Each session will start with a practice where we will share setups and generally have a good time trying to learn the car/track combo. The practice is followed by a short qualification and then a race. The race duration depends on the combination but will typically be around 30-40 minutes. The total session time is typically from 18:00 (start of practice) to 20:00 GMT (end of race).
For all dutch-speaking iRacers, a Teamspeak server will be live during the sessions. The address is 173.199.64.243:9169.
